mpgen5x & vectors

I am hoping to work on a modification for the mpgen5x post to get it to post out vectors to control the tool axis. This is for a Siemens 840DI control. I need the vector output in order for 3d comp to be used (the siemens command is TRAORI). The vectors are output as A3, B3, C3.

 

guess I am wondering if mpgen5x will support this kind of output.

my understanding is that any post can be used to output these vectors, BUT that the vetors are only available from the "Multiaxis" toolpaths.

Here is what they cover in the post Documation:

That is a few I found not real tiem to help but this is also from the post CD. I recommend you call your dealer and get it from them if you are going to tackle this post yourself.

teh damn .PSB file is going to keep me from doing this...seems that all the ptlchg1002 & pmx0 calls are locked up....and in order to map things correctly...these need to be modified.

Nope not from what I have heard every posslbe thing you would need is not locked up. Do I agree hell no but what I am told so good luck.

TRy what Ron suggested put:

~vtoolx,~vtooly,~vtoolz,e

in the post in an output post block.

 

The result in x,y,z terms is the length of a 1" 3d line on each axis. they are pos or neg according to direction.
