Slow Computer on NetHasp

We recently upgraded to a NetHasp along with another mill seat.It is installed on a new Dell Inspiron 9300 laptop, with a 1.6 Ghz Pent. M processor with 768 meg of RAM. It also has an Invida graphics card. While working in MasterCam the computer somtimes runs slow. E.g. do a bunch of mouse clicks, create toolpaths and geometry, then click the main menu or file-get buttons and the computer just stops. 30 seconds or so later it catches up again. Unfortunatly it doesn't happen all the time so it is hard to pinpoint. (it happeens on an older laptop as well)

We are using one of workstations as the Nethasp server and we don't have a problem with it.

(Pent 4 3.0 Ghz with 1 Ghz Ram)

Even if we put the hasp on the laptop we still have the same problem.

We have tried changing the NetHasp.INI file so that it looks for only one server IP adress. That didn't work either.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks

Does this slow-down happen with any other computers on your network using the NetHASP or is it just this one particular notebook that has the problem?

...and set to NetHASP/Local in NHasp9.exe?

If the laptop does it all the time and the workstation does not what makes you think its the Nethasp? Did the laptop work ok before? I had 2 laptop with mastercam using Nethasp over a wireless network with no problems.

You can fix some speed issues within File > Get by using a Standard Windows File/Get dialog box instead of Mastercam's File/Get. To change this go through the Start Button > All Programs > Mastercam 9.1 > CNC Reg. Select your product from the drop-down menu, select the Standard Windows radio button, then hit Apply. Hit OK to exit out and test to see if that helps at all.

This may be something you've already covered but you may check your memory allocations to make sure you aren't using default values. Screen > Configure > Allocations. Toolpath & Database allocations should be set higher than the defaults which are something like 8,000 & 4,000.
