Verify Dialog Box

Ijust had a 3D Labs Vx1 viedo card installed

last month with everthing looking good.

Using Mill/Lathe Level 1 Ver. 8.1 Today I did a verify and the dialog boxes to control verify is incomplete. If you drag it on the screen it disappears. If you click the set up button and use reset the screen shows mostly black and gray . You can click around to exit or make verify run. The dialog box at verify also disappears while each tool is running. Hard to discribe problem. Any ideas,

Hi Brian,

I have been down this same road with this same card and am sorry to say I never got it to work well with Mastercam. (NT4sp6)

slow/corrupt dialogue boxes, etc, etc...

I gave up and swapped it for a Firegl card and have never looked back, although the Toolpath/Verify component to Mastercam has always been taxing on resources.

Sorry to hear this.

I run that card in my main box on the OS of Win2k.

This has been one of the best cards i have had.Plaining on buying another soon.

Thats odd,i got that card on an NT4 sp6,Win98 and 2k with no probs,the only one

that had any probs was a WinME but only one

of my motherboards in particular,seems to be fine on ones with VIA chip sets though,did ya check 3d labs site to see if ya got the

latest drivers?

Make sure in the Windows display properties you have the open GL support set for Mastercam.

Control panel, display, settings, advanced, 3D labs, advanced, open GL support, Mastercam.

One of the 1st things to try is (and I'm sure it's been said before) turning down the acceleration in the graphics settings. At the "no acceleration" setting, you should be fine, and then turn it up if you can.

These sorts of graphics problems have become just as much of a pain to us developers as to you customers.

Also, make sure you run the "repair" option on the install disk (after your original installation). This solves MANY issues with NT.

THANKS ! Added open gl support " Mastercam "

to the 3D Labs advanced setting. Verify is working correctly now.
