X parasolid version

Wondering what mcam's parasolid import version is can't import new solid works files. SW2006

Thanks,David I I'm trying to open a slprt file and it wont open in X it say cannot find parasolid data I can open parasolid xt. if I save out of SW as parasolid.

SolidWorks released SW2006 AFTER we released this version of X, so unfortunately the version of X that's out there does not read .SLDPRTs created in the official release of SW2006.

 

Support for import of SolidWorks 2006 parts will be included in the upcoming "1st Service Pack" (SP1) of Mastercam X.

I installed the SolidworksDirect X release

yesterday. It works great with SW2006.

 

BTW, Exporting SW coordinate systems in SWDirect

would be a very powerful tool. Has it ever been

concidered?? IS there a reason it can't be done??

you showed me the trick for outputting SW coord. systems via saving as a binary parasolid. I still live and die by that.

Given a choice between a dumb parasolid landing in

Mastercam exactly where I want it and an editable

solid landing on the Front plane, I'll take the parasolid any day.

That's why I never use SWDirect.

 

The latest version of SWDirect looks like it works very well though. It sure would be nice to have both
