Worked like a charm

Glad to hear it Brendan. If you do run into trouble creating solid from surfaces another alternative is import the surfaces into another cad program like CAD/KEY or Solid Works and heal into a solid then export to parasolid. Works for me. cheers.gif

We have been asking for this for years.

Exporting the verify result into cadkey for operation sheets would be a huge time saver for us. If it where a solid.

stl is garbage.

Why can't mastercam export the verify result directly to a parasolid? If someone can develope a chook for it wouldn't you think cnc would want to incorparate that functionality into their products?

Stl's are made up of polygons. Depending on the tolerance used to create them they can be faceted and cumbersome to work with. They don't convert to a perfect solid inless the part geometry is all 90 deg angles and no radial surfaces. I use stl's for verification and graphic's only. (Eye Candy) for setup sheets that I create using MS WORD. MC does a pretty good job at making the stl's look good visualy so I use a screen capture of the verification using HIJAAK pro to insert into MS WORD theen apply anotatation using Autoshapes/Callouts. HTH !
