Set up sheet causes crash

Hello,

I am trying to use "NC utils/Setup sheet".

It works the first time, but when I exit it and go back in, MC shuts down with an error message of "This program has performed an illegal operation".

Any ideas on what to do to correct this?

Thanks,

Rory

I had the same problem exactly,i could use setup sheet once, and the second time it crashed.

i can't tell what cause this problem.

I have (almost) no problems since i use Windows NT 4.

I had your problem only under win98.

Sometimes a firewall or an Anti-virus programs can cause this kind of problems.

Good luck smile.gif

I'm almost positive this is a graphics card issue. You should treat it as such and get the latest drivers for your video card, try changing hardware acceleration, read any of the MANY threads here on the subject. The only way around it at the moment is not to use the graphical set-up sheet. If you want the tool pictures and such, I'd suggest the .HTML set-up sheet available here.

I reported this problem about a month ago to inhouse.

what we found is a posible bug with ram saving and file length name.

when you do a ram save or post a file with save nci. notice the file name being saved under ram save.

the will be a several ? marks placed in the file name. ie: widget.mc8? or more-than-twenty-letters-used-in-file-name-widget????.mc8

my work around is to conrol save first , then make my setup sheet.

The graphical set-up sheet, and the HTML set-up sheet, both output the information from the "Define Tool" page. As in Overall length, & Manufactures Tool code.

Is there a way to output this type of information in the Setup sheet, set file?

Thanks,

Rory

Rory,

It is not THAT difficult to do.

No, there are not pre-defined variables

for these 'additional parameters'

We've got too many already wink.gif

I've just done a new MILL.SET that has

many output options for cycle time and

max/min XYZ information output.

If anyone wants a copy, I've put it on

the Forum FTP in the "Text & post files & misc"

area as "NEW-MILL.SET"
