  1. Yeah, that's in MachSim. Mastercam 2023. Not sure if it was in earlier versions. I recently started using NCSIMUL and it has a function like that, so I went looking for it in MachSim.
  2. Machine Simulation also provides the ability to remove chips. It's located in an odd spot, inside the "Measure" docking pane and in the drop-down list. When this is turned on, it does it automatically while processing.
  3. My mistake when I said it didn't get rid of the message. I had opened a file and saved it. Then when I had the message again, I didnt realize it was a different fie. Same part number different file..... Duh Rory
  4. That's what I thought right away too but saving it without Verisuf hasn't gotten rid of the message.
  5. I recently move to a new PC and am getting a message about the file being created with a newer version of Verisurf. Short of installing Verisurf, how do I get rid of this error each time I open a file? Rory
  6. Have both systems been calibrated? They are each independent of one another, one calibration does not cover the other.
  7. We use the Productivity+ add-on with great results. There is a lot you can do with it. I like that it is all built into your posted code and no editing or merging needed once posted.
  8. Anybody programming for a DMG MORI Taiyo Koki CVG-6 grinder? http://www.taiyokoki.com/index_products_e.html I'm looking to see if I can get a post built to program this machine and have been told they need sample code because grinders typically are programmed with patterns or macros that are not easily generated with a post processor. We are just setting this machine up and haven't made anything on it yet so I don't have any code to look at. Thanks
  9. It is possible by using Groups. Click on Groups in the lower corner of the screen, this will open the Groups Manager. Select New and give it a name then follow the instructions to select entities. In order to use these as a group you need to select the All button on the General Selection ribbon bar when that window pops up select the Group Manager button and proceed from there. Rory
  10. In the toolist, is it possible to capture the tool material such as HSS, Carbide, Ti Coated...? Rory
  11. Feeding in and rapid out has worked for me. Make sure the machine can produce enough axis thrust otherwise you could have problems with the machine stopping.

As far as I have seen, Mastercam does not give you a warning that you are opening a file that may already be open, either on your computer or someone elses. So a word of caution on opening multiple sessions would be that if you open the same file in two different sessions at the same time on the same computer for what ever reason, some changes could be lost becasue the "last one out, wins".
  13. Near the beginning of the post in the revision log, there is a note; "# IHS 11/06/02 - Switch added for 4/3 decimal place tapping feeds, dat". I can't seem to locate the switch. I know that I could change out the format statement, but if there is a switch... Has anybody come across it? Rory
  14. I am trying to print a drawing from X4 onto 11" x 17" size paper. It looks correct on screen when you use the "print" option rather than the "Print Preview". When you click "Print Preview" it is not shown correct and does not print correctly either. Has anybody run into this issue? If so, is there a way around it to get it to print to fill the 11 x 17 paper? Rory
  15. Thanks for the help. I was able to get it to work. Rory
  16. I think there needs to be a wait function something like this; q1 #question call while (sanswer = snull), [ q1 counter = counter + 1 Wait 1 if counter = 15, exitpost$ ] But I am unsure of how to add the wait in the correct format for the post.
  17. That worked just like I wanted it to. Maybe I will add a timer so that it can't get caught in an infinite loop. If it times out it can exit the posting process. Isnt there a command called "exitpost" or something similar that will let this happen?
  18. I have a post set up to ask a question of the user when they post a file. The window that pops up allows the user to input the needed data which is then written into the code for the CNC machine. Right now a person can just blow through the screen which leaves a blank space in the nc file. Does anybody know how to set up a check that the post will do to see if the entry was blank? If it is left blank, I do not want posting to continue but rather return to the screen and wait for user input again. Rory
  19. Both are great options and each work just as well as the other and they each have their own reasons to be used. Thanks for the help, Rory
  20. When I create solids and do a boolean add, I have the goemetry left over that I used to create the added solid. Example; I create a simple rectangle and extrude it one inch. Now lets say I need to releive one corner with another rectangle. If I create a rectangle in one corner of the previously extruded rectangle and extrude this one with the cut body option, I have the geometry left over hanging out in the open. Is this a procedural thing where I am doing this wrong or is there a setting to exclude the left over geometry?
  21. Thanks all for the help! Maybe I'll start over building the library since there are only eight operations in there. I will blow the old one away first in case it is corrupt. Once it is in place again, I will compress and see if that makes the difference. Thanks, Rory
  22. I did not previously compress the library. I did go back and do so now, but it did not have any effect. The tool imported is not the correct one and the library is also changed when I go back and look at it.
  23. The "tool number sequentially" is not picked in job set up so it should import the tools as is from the library. Correct? What is strange is that not just the tool number changed but the actual tool is different.
  24. In the mill package, 9.1 MR0304, I have saved operations to a library. All is ok with tools in library, I have looked at the library by going to "NC utils", "Def. ops", "Library". When there I have verified that the correct tool is associated with the correct operation. When I go away from there and into the "Operations Manager" on a new part, I right click and pick "get from library". From there I pick the operations that I previously verified (verification again shows correct tools for operations). After the "get from library" is complete, I notice that some but not all operations have the wrong tool associated with it. When I go back into the "Library" through the "NC utils" path, I notice that the library has been changed to what I see in the operations manager. Nothing I did directly overwrote the library, so how can it be getting changed? Has anybody observed this problem? If so how have you worked around it? Rory
