Snap to

How do I turn off the continual "snap to".

For example when drawing a circle/spline over an existing drawing the cursor constantly tries to snap to an entity, which is exactly what I don't want.

MCX,Right mouse click on graphics window,Auto curser,Disable all.

 

In V9 there is a setting under screen config that toggles the Auto curser on/off.

You can temporarily override autocursor by holding down Ctrl. In MCX, that is.

sorry guy's forgot to mention V9 and David I can't find that switch

Same as David said for V9.

Right click/ bottom of the list/ auto cursor/ click it, if the check mark goes away it should be off.

V9 screen,config,Screen untick "Use Auto-Cuser in point Selection.

 

I cant find this option in Mcam X

You can find it in the right click menu. If you open up a new session of MCX, right click-autocursor, disable all....then Settings-Configuration and hit save, your autocursor settings will be set as the default.

thanks guy's I found it on right click untick no more dramas ( for now at least) in fact maybe you can assist one more time today.

I have imported raster to vector, it is a celtic knot, the problem I have is how do I smooth the curves/splines after they are vectors, ( I tried all the options when doing the conversion but the results were not good so I have had to live with the poor quality vectors) because at the moment they are really jagged lines and curves and I am not sure if when toolpathing whether the machine will try to follow the jagges lines and give me a jagged edge, or should I just up the create spline tolerance in the tool path???

Fixed this one two.

Very easy, open the JPEG in COREL DRAW , drag the size until it is very big, save it and move it to COREL TRACE convert it to black and white, and then do the trace, worked like a dream and you get smooth vectors, save as DXF and import it into MC
