I'm having a problem running toolpaths on a large file. I get an error of "Warning - Error allocating memory for toolpath function" when I try to do anything under -Toolpath

I've tried to up my allocations but with no luck

Has anybody else seen this problem before?

BTW.. I'm running

P4 3.0 GHz

1.0 GB of RAM

NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200

Mastercam V9.1 SP2

Allocations look like this

16000

16000

4000

240000

300000

On version 9. What you should do is shut down mastercam. And restart, that works most of the time. I was told before, that version 9 didn't keep the ram very well cleaned out, so if your running mastercam for a long time, close it every now and then.

We experienced this on occaision when we ran V9, we're on X now.

We had the problem mainly running surface contour toolpaths. Try running the chook tpcfg (toolpath config) and uncheck the fzt option. This may take a bit longer to process the toolpath, but should eliminate the memory errors.

This may work only if you're programming surface toolpaths. Just remember to switch it back when done, because it is faster and more efficient on most jobs to have fzt turned on. Unless you get the errors.

hope it helps

You can access that thru the c-hook TCPfg

ALT + C, TCPfg

You'll find FZT there

The FZT option I think came in in one of the maintenace releases, MR0304?

If you are not on maintenance you may not have it.

You seem to have plenty of pony power, what kind of toolpath are you trying to crunch?

Can you share the file?

I thought I was on MR0105 here.... My IS guy is checking if we are still on maintenance or not...

It started as I couldn't even click on the Toolpath->Drill icon as it would pop up the error. Now I can get about 8 different, simple 2d toolpath functions and I then get the message and I can't do anything after that?

Unfortunatly I can not share the file... Prototype for new products... headscratch.gif
