tool numbers v8.1.1

morning everyone.i recently got a new comp.

here and loaded mcx and 8.1.1.my problem is

all my tool numbers are messed up in 8

i did a search and found the answer i thought

i checked the box in job setup.but it doesn't

stay that way.it goes back to selecting tool numbers from 1 then 2. am i missing a setting here. thanks in advance for any help

screen >> config >> nc settings >> job setup

 

Set it in there and it should then stick

i went into nc settings but i didn't see

a job set up box. so i'm lost here on that

can't figure it out. it seems so easy

Sorry forgot the operation default on the nc settings tab

not sure on what to do with the default tab

but use existing box is checked and job set

up box is unchecked.still all tools i call up

are 1 2 3 etc.sheesh am i having a brain freeze

here.starting to get that uneasy feeling now

when i go back in an old job before getting

new computer everything is fine

Another way is,

NC Utils, Defaults, Default Ops, Open, Click on the Job Setup button there. De-Select the sequential tool number option. Save on the way out.

Are you runing this comp. with administrative rights? If not log in as administrator & give the user full access permissions to the mcam directories.

ok last time. here is what i have.

everything is fine if i check all

boxs before i do a job.this will

stay this way for the whole job.

now when i go and start a new job

i will have to recheck and uncheck

boxes.it just won't stay as i want it.

like it use to.that's it, i guess i will just

work around it .thanks for the help

day is going.

Marty go into screen >configure >nc settings > Operation defaults this will open a window click open then a operation manager will open on the right click job setup follow the other steps you do each time press okay you will see your default settings saving. Next xlose all instances of mcam you have open re open a new one then check to see if it is updated and still checked

Once you have it set like the guys here have described, it will affect all NEW files. Any file that was created before you fixed it will still number the tool sequentially.

 

Here's what you can do. Open the file that was done before the fix. Immediately go to Toolpaths-Job setup, make the selections that you want, click OK. Now save the file. Now you'll have to go into each operation and reselect the tool to get them numbered right, but the file will be "fixed" from now until the end of time.

hey thad yea i did every thing right it just

didn't stick,until i reread john's response

then i read concepttool's response and did it.

i saw job set up on the right side this time

after clickingg default tab.duh

i think all is well. thanks guys really
