USB HASP

I have something to throw out to Mastercam. I like the idea of the USB hasps with one addition. It would be nice to be able to order a USB hasp with 512 or 1GB of memory. Think about it. When I work from home, it would be awesome to be able to put the files on the hasp to transfer them. Also, it would be a great place to keep documentation and other little utilities.

What’ya think?

A USB hub is a device that plugs into one USB port on your PC and has multiple USB ports. So you could plug your Hasp into one port & a USB memory stick into another, then just unplug the hub & take the whole thing home.

I've seen some pretty small 2 & 4 port hubs so it could still be pocket size too.

Daves' got the right idea. A little more bulkie. But thats what I do with my USB devices.

Pete's point is that when the device registers with Windows, It's seen as a security device. Making a USB that can be seen as a Security device and a Storage device sounds like problems waiting to happen.

It's like having an 8 track, cassette, CD, DVD, MP3 player built into your Phone, PDA, with a tooth brush, hair trimmer and Swiss army knife attachment. You could do it, but "should" you do it.
