Saving over a LAN

I have done some testing on how fast things get saved. The tests I have done is with a 50Mb MCX file.

Copy X from C:/ to D:/ takes about 5sec

Save X to C:/ from MasterCam X takes about 5sec

Copy X from C:/ to a network folder takes about 8 sec

Save X to a network folder from MasterCam X takes about 30sec

Anyone have a good explonation on why the last case take so much longer?

I have had the same problem. Tried static IP addresses with no help. Everything (SolidWorks, etc.) else works fine and saves fairly quickly except MCX2, MR2, SP1. I also have another issue when MX launches and doesn't use proper data path settings in the config file. On the 3rd try, it works fine. Submitted to CNC Software. No reply yet.

I transfer files over a LAN but I don't save them over a LAN. The transfer is quick. I've noticed helping others that they save to a LAN and it takes awhile. My pc is a little faster only because I have a 1/2 Gig more Ram.

I have noticed on the slower pc that the folder we were trying to save in was loaded and it took awhile just for that folder to open. If the folder on the LAN was somewhat small it opened much faster therfor saving the file faster.
