I don't understand. When I save a view, MC designates a number for me to reference that view. Why when I come in the next morning those numbers are no longer valid. I think I can save a named view are maybe thats the way to do it right. But I just don't understand why the numbers MC assigns changes overnight.

Views are created "behind the scenes" in Mastercam to support entities that are view dependent (arcs, text, etc). That's why if you've ever created a circular array of arcs where they result in occupying different planes, and then you go to set a view by number, you'll see the numbers (1-29) or whatever amount over the standard 8 views you get on starting a new file.

If you create a view after that, your view will be number 30. Delete the arcs, and it will still be number 30 until you save and retreive the file - it will then be number 9. Mastercam does not save view that are not used. You use a view when you define a named view.

Granted this guy probably didn't understand how MC handles this, but logically, why would you just give a view a number? It obviously is relevant to or linked to some feature of your geo, so why not give it a name that best describes it, so you aren't working from memory or a list of numbers.

Just my .02, and you get what you pay for.
