Manipulating .stl files

Hello List.

Can I manipulate an .stl file?

I've generated one in verify for the first operation of a part. The second operation will be to stand this part on end and machine some bosses one end. I would like to use the .stl that i generated but that also would need to be stood on the same end (manipulated) as the part.

I know that i can regenerate a proper .stl if i cut it in the same orientation. So...

can i re-orient the existing .stl? or do I use my work-around?

I've included an image of the second operation.

TIA
