HST Toolpaths & Depth Limits

Just wondering if I am missing something here. I cannot select a depth for a depth limit, I have to key it in...very much a pain having to write down a depth then key it in.

maybe we should put this on the wish list. cnc would hopefully be able to add that feature.

Just for a test, I tried the right click on 2 other seats we have here....same result. All 3 seats were CD installs.

type Z in the depth field and hit Enter

that will take you to the graphics screen where

you can select and endpoint which represents the depth you want.

This works for any field.

You can use X Y Z A(angle) or S(distance)

just wonder why some are able to right click & others are not.

Another approach is, before starting operation, to analyze position and select the depth you need; highlight the z value and right click, copy. Then when in the operation you can paste the value into correct field. I use this all the time when translating to particular position. Cheers...

Maybe they can't either. They just thought you could right click because you can in all of the other toolpaths. Just a guess.

Right click brings up that menu, pick Z , then pick your depth.

That's what I was thinking of. Is that available for all highspeed toolpaths? When they said it did nothing, I thought maybe the highspeed toolpaths, not being created by CNC Software, didn't have that option.

Just tried it in all 7 HS Surface toolpaths in MR1, worked in all of them.

I think you're right. Some have the cursor pointer icon that will send you back to the graphics window to interrogate a point. Maybe he didn't see that and thought the feature wasn't there?
