Importing from existing MasterCam File

Is there a way to import tools and segments directly from an existing MasterCam file, rather than using the Operations Library? In version 9 you could do this in Job Setup under import. In X I don't see this exact option. I see Import in the operations manager but that only allows me to import from an operation library.

use the Import in the Op Manager and just browse to a folder of mcx's and you will see availeable mcx's.

You can also import tools from an MCX file.

I beleive its the middle icon in the middle of the Tool Manager

Operation, tool & material libraries are really rebadged mcx files. You can change the file extensions to ".mcx" and call them up and work with them like normal part files.

For importing the operations,Is it not required first to export the operations and that operations are only availabele for import.

You said we can only import the tool also from the mcx file if we need.

so far I was doing first export the operations and than I was importing those operations.

Is any body can explain little more in detail.

Right click in the OP's Manager and choose

"Import"

Click on the little square box next to the file

dropdown.

Navigate to the Folder that contains your source

file.

If there is only one MCX file in that folder, it will open

If there is more than one file click on the dropdown and choose the correct file.

Select the operations youwant to import and click

Import. If you hit the green check, you'll have to do this all over

Importing operations we can do sraight from mcx file than where we use export option.

Any suggestion will help

If you want to save something to your operation library.

 

We don't run production so I can't always recall what toolpath I used on which part.
