hi everybody,i have another question ;how i can calculate in mastercam how deep i need to move my z-?

example:we are going to use a (82 angle #7 center drill=.625 body)

let say we would like to make a (.500 chamfer)

and i have a .250 (drill tip)

.313 this is the lenght of thr drill tip

there is a cool old c-hook that i got an updated copy of called csinkpt.dll. if you have a point that represents the center of the hole diameter you just run the c-hook which prompts you for the location(the point) the angle and the diameter, and it creates the point at the depth you drill to. I'm racking my memory for this.........

I believe that standard center drill geometry allows that the distance from tip to full body diameter equals the body diameter. With an STD. angle of 60 degrees (or whatever) it should be easy to calculate down the c-drill starting from body dia. and going down to the tip. I know that sounds backwards but it is at the full dia that you know the length.

The easiest way I've found is to draw it, and measure from tip to whatever diameter you want it to go to.

I agree with FRANK. The easiest way to do it is to draw it. I have all my countersinks & center drills drawn, and when necessary I just merge the file and measure the depth.

YOu have cheated on the drill parameter Felix,Tool dia key in=.500, Depth= .00,and on the Tip compensation, Tip angle=82 deg,break through amount=.00
