Using Last

Just trying to use the last function in the options for chaining. What I'am doing for an example to try and figure this out I have two lines that cross near the ends,I chain one of the lines trying to get a single contour on both of the lines , but of course that won't work because the lines are crossing right , so now I trim the two lines go back to countour the path then hit last and the first line highlights then I countour the last line then I end up with two seperate countours. What am I not doing or doing wrong?

Thanks Jason

Because only part of the original contour still exists, the first paart of the line, the trimmed line is new to the contour thus NOT part of the last feature.

If you chain that line now and the use it agin, then it will be the last chain.

What good are 3D models, when you make one tiny change, and have to rechain the whole lot.

How do you replace the original geometry with the new, and having nearly all the chains un touched.

How do associate the new model with the old chains, at the same places?

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but when I used Esprit 10 years ago, they had a great chain manager built in. You could just pick a chain from the list and it would highlight the geometry and you could use it for another toolpath if needed. Does Mastercam have something like this hidden that I haven't found yet?
