I have customized the set-up sheet post file to work almost perfect for my needs, except for one thing. I would like to post all my operations on one sheet (easy) but seperated by operation group (?). I have an HP printer that lets me print 4 pages of output on one page and I can get 20 tools output on one 8.5 X 11 sheet, but I need to seperate the op groups with a group name and program name. I have been editing the info in manually but I would like the post to output the info for me. If this info is something that you guys charge time for I don't mind paying my fair share. Any help is appreciated. Let me know.

Have have you asked your dealer to customize this yet for you?

Usually the Dealer is usually the first line of communication for that type of thing .

Thanks guys. I am with a small company, I've only been there about 7 months, and I have no idea who my dealer is. I am in NW Alabama (Florence) which is the red-neck extrusion-tooling hub of the Southeast. My boss thinks my PII 266 computer is fine for running MC8.1. I have to print my set-up sheets to a network printer 30 feet from my desk. And worse yet, he wants to get a 5-axis mill and keep my old computer to program for 6 mills running one-piece jobs that take an hour to program and 2 hours to set-up and run, per machine for two shifts. I know, boo-hoo-hoo, but lets just say I don't have time to locate and corespond with a dealer. I will upload the file as I am using it to the forum ftp under posts as rsbeadle.set tomorrow night when I get home (no internet access for me at work). I just blocked the output to print only what I need, but I think it is still calculating all the info as it takes a while to build the sheet. I know this is a long post and I'm sorry for the belly-aching. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Oh, yeah, I will also upload an MC8 file for one of my short programs for anyone who wants to help. I will upload it to the forum ftp under posts also so that the files will be together. it will be under rsbeadle.MC8. Thanks again.

Actually, I don't think that operation Group names are available in the post. The variable for the program name is 'progname' until V9, at which point it will be 'sprogname' - 'progname' is also used to set the program name output to uppercase.

Dave is right. As of now there is no way to send the group names to the .nci file - and therefore to posted code or the .set setup sheet. It's not even in the binary toolpath information. This goes for v9 as well. Send in a request to [email protected]

i pity you having to use a 266mhz computer .we actually use that for dnc usage.a pentium 4 would be fine,it's not that expensive!i am using a p3 733mhz at home for fun!

I have finally uploaded my files to the ftp if anyone wants to try or use them they are all under rsbeadle(.set, .mc8, .doc). I added an output doc file in case anyone doesn't want to change their settings to view the .set file output. I made mention of where I would like the group name. But after reading the rest of the posts I am now aware that I can't get the info to the set-up sheet. If anyone wants to use my altered version feel free. Thanks for the help.
