solid face selection view..be carefull

What is up with the way MC pick solid faces? I would think that it would be possible to change the color of the face or something. "View" shows both drive and check surfaces.

The biggest problem is when you have many solid faces to select and one is missed or not selected. it is not very easy to tell which face is not selected when all the others surrounding it have been selected.

This caused a gouge in one of our last molds becuase mc tried to plunge down into the unselected face by .015 which scrapped out a $900 block of 6061. mad.gif

I don't always select the entire solid due to the size of the solids I work with. When you have large models with hundreds of solid faces, things slow down considerably as it checks faces that aren't even near where you are machining while generating the toolpath. I find myself unchecking faces next to the one I'm not sure of just to see if the edge between the two stays hilghlighted or not. I like the idea of shading a face when I select it this would immediately say "Yes, I'm selected" or "Nope, better get me too!"

Just my two cents worth... wink.gif
