Wire Problems

I had training for X a couple months ago but then got hurt at work and was off a month so what he showed me about the wire, which was limited, I can't remember.

 

My question is I have a Robofil 290P and when I draw a part and post it I get a .CMD file and when I put that into the machine it shoots out all sorts of errors. It doesn't like any of the code...none of which is G code.

 

Help please because all this drawing of the part and then sitting down and had writing a program is just pissing me off!! Remember, I am relatively new to MC so don't get crazy techical with me....dumb it down

You might want to give your reseller a call, sounds like your not using the right post for that machine.

The post I have is the one the reseller gave me. I could have put the files in the wrong place but I doubt it. I just had to put them in the wire machine def folder. I will try and contact them I guess.

You are posting with the command post and not the G code post.

Question is... Which output to do want X to produce?

 

The .CMD and the .ISO files, which there is a PST for.

(If your post is creating a .CMD file, it should also be making a .ISO file).

Just an .ISO file, which (or course) there is another PST that does that.

You need the ISO generating post look in the post and make sure it generates ISO

Ok..Ok...slow down...My post is a .CMD the machine kicks out errors with that. My post is a robowire.pst (whatever that means) I want the machine to create a g code that the wire can actually use when I load it...once again...please dumb it down..I am new to MC and the manipulation of posts. The las CAM software I used..all the posts were there and I didn't have to change a thing...

I did not know there was a post to create cmd. files let alone a post that did both .iso & .cmd files.

 

Are they available on the cd? or for V9.

 

maybe I should call my reseller.

Ok...everything was fine until I changed part drawings...now when I load the Robowire machine def. it doesn't have a post associated with it. I click on edit and see the correct post and click on it and save and nothing happens. It still says none for the post on the machine group properties.

yes...it is weird because sometimes it works and other times it doesn't.....how can I make that def the default for all wire ops?

ok...I fixed the probelm but ran into another.....It tells me that my power setting library mcamx/wire_inch.power is of the wrong version and to update my library....WTF???
