c- axis lathe post modification help

Recommended Posts

I am trying to get a post modified for a Daewoo Puma C-axis lathe with a Fanuc 21ITB control. I have started with MPLFAN.pst in version 9.

Problem 1- When trying to do a face contour toolpath it posts like this

O0000

G20

G0 T0101

M23

G0 G54 X1.38 Z.1

C0.

M9

G97 S2500 M52

G98 G1 Z-.0049 F6.16

C-180. F511.58

Z-.0099 C0.

C-180.

Z-.0148 C0.

C-180.

Z-.0197 C0.

C-180.

Z-.0246 C0.

C-180.

Z-.0296 C0.

the trouble is that it should be outputting a -360 or it will not run correctly. I tried several other c-axis post and all output code the same way.

The customer would like to have a continuing c-axis movement like this.

O0000

G20

G0 T0101

M23

G0 G54 X1.38 Z.1

C0.

M9

G97 S2500 M52

G98 G1 Z-.0049 F6.16

C-360. F511.58

Z-.0099 C0.

C-360.

Z-.0148 C0.

I tried to change it here but had no luck.

c_axistype : 0 #1 = C axis winds-up, 2 = C axis signed absolute

I also tried to change it in the A column here with no luck.

#Columns- ABCDEFGH.IJKLMNOPQ #Turret/Spindle #Path Type

scase_tl_c1 10000222.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Turning cut

scase_tl_c2 11000012.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Right Face cut

scase_tl_c_2 11110012.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Left Face cut

scase_tl_c3 10010102.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Cross cut

scase_tl_c4c 10000111.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Y axis subs. Cycle

scase_tl_c4 10000222.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Y axis subs.

scase_tl_c5 10000222.000000000 #Top turret/Left spindle, Multisurf Rotary

Problem 2- When doing C-axis cross contour cutting grooves around a cylinder the post outputs my initial G54 fine but when c-axis rotates to next groove it outputs a G55 and a G56 on the last one. The same tool is used for all 3 grooves. I have tried changing the WCS settings in the post and cannot get this to stop.

When using same tool the customer does not want to generate a new work offset.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Mike is taking over alot of the support and posts, just alot coming in right now. From all the posts bout jobs in NC you can see things are jumping around here. When Mike asks me about sumthin I tend to do it and move on, which if you blink you'll miss what happened. We have been pretty busy so thats bout all I can do. I don't know if its been posted in another thread, but we have also hired Travis. He'll be starting in august, and that will help Mike and I out alot.

...and no they dont get trucks too, but Katie has offered the honda up for a company vehicle for them smile.gif
