I am trying to use sub programs and have it loop a given number of times:

to use m97 you have to have a sub within the prog that matches your p callout #,you could just write a seperate sub and use m98

If I have along program, I sometimes use M97 to jump to certain part in the program. I would do like htm said and use M98 and use a seperate sub program like M98 P101 L2 and dont forget to put a M99 at the end of the sub.

The post puts the sub program at the bottom and all is good there its the line: M98 P101 L2

that repeats over and over with each new depth, I want just one line: M97 P101 L2

With the L telling how many times to loop according to the depth of cut per pass versus the total depth. I know the other M98 will work , I am trying to get fancy and really clean up the code. I will keep going with this, I was just wondering if anybody has tried doing this?

well it looks like it is going to depth then calling the sub(P11001), if you just call the sub you would cut over and over at the same depth. unless you set it up in G91,but that could lead to other problems
