"Save as" after File-New

I get 2 different responses when using File-New and I was wondering why different computers do different things. This is just a minor annoyance.

 

Open a new session of MC. Without creating anything, click File-New. Here's what happens.

 

Situation 1: Save as dialog box pops up.

 

Situation 2: The screen flickers and I get a fresh file. There is no Save as dialog box.

 

2 computers react with situation 1 and 4 react with situation 2. In situation 1, if I give it a name and save it, it saves the file that is being closed, which contains nothing.

 

How does your computer act?

Mine does the 2nd situation. fresh file. NO save as dialog box

I swapped config, kmp, mtb files, and hasps that were getting the different results and it didn't change anything.

Could it be the dialog select in the MastercamX icon under Control Panel?

 

I would post a picture, but mine won't open. I assume since I uninstalled the two previous releases of X.

I just checked. They're both set to MCX and I get different results. Thanks anyway.

I don't get the screen flicker or the save as dialog box. What puzzles me is why I get the message "MCX File has changed. Save file?" dialog after I open some files , do nothing (not even change the display in any way) and try and open another file.

I guess it's more of a single blink.

Ok, I do get a blink that redisplays the WCS and scale info at the bottom of the page but the toolbars and such do not blink.

No "Save As" box here, fresh file

No save as here either.

I had one do the "save as" thing, got pretty frustrating. We have many seats with many people using them. Some got confused with the one seat doing this... Reinstall fixed it.
