  1. NO Problem here on our YCI's, wet air, no-oil in blast, cheap tooling, etc. etc.
  2. Sounds like a way to get there. What about a larger diameter face mill? Could get a decent cross hatch that way.
  3. When ever I open the HMM parameters dialog, ALL my HMM ops go dirty. What gives is this normal?
  4. Boss has imposed an 80% of spindle MAX limit on me. I cannot program any faster than 6400 RPM. The insert is ad-defacto nauseum gonna stay as HIS choice for roughing inserts. Testing shows that the 5000 rpm @ 200 IPM runs good with .025 D.O.C. Considering I'll be giving notice soon I guess I'll just leave it and let him fuss about the cycle time.
  5. I need to rough out a mold cavity in 6061, and I am going to be using an 1" end mill with 2 (.375) round inserts. I normally run this tool @ 5000 rpm, 200IPM @ .025" D.O.C.. However this mold is going to run a lot longer than I normally like them too. My best option for speeding this up is to increase my D.O.C. Any body have any recommendations on what they do in this situation.
  6. OK, I think I figured it out. When I select the stl I do not have to have it rotated, in the stl file. Mcam will rotate to the wcs in use. Does this sound right?
  7. 1) ran 1st op in verify, saved stl 2) opened stl in mcam and rotated with new wcs, tried to save with errors 3) ran 2nd op in verify using modified stl and nothing shows up for stock, progress counter goes up, but no tool or stock can be seen. I am being a little slow today and can't figure out what I am missing.
  8. OK, I set up new wcs and tried to save, didn't work. Said no surfaces existed (of course not it's an stl) The filename appeared, but was empty. So, what am I doing wrong?
  9. When I save an stl from verify, and then proceed to use it for a stock model in another operation/set-up, do I need to actually rotate the stl model, or just use a new wcs?
  10. I vaguely recall seeing this, and it was the way I had my options for my operation set-up. Double check everything, I seem to re-call something was INC and needed to be ABS. HTH

WHat a perfect example of how this forum helps people out in a pinch!
  12. It is a download, I think from -- ModuleWorks GmbH quote: Machine Simulation with collision check for Mastercam VX2
  13. +1 MillingMan, I have not found a use for that dropdown box yet.
  14. For your toolbars you need to save a toolbar state and so you can reload the toolbar state when your toolbars go wacko on you.
  15. Have you tried setting you're onset/departure angle for the tangential lead? HTH
  16. hijack: cute disclaimer dave, following James? hijack off:
  17. Sounds like a file corruption. Can you "safely" repair install from install disk? HTH DC
  18. I don't recall the fix for this, but it has been covered here before, try a forum search. HTH
  19. For me the processing time seems to be the same. Where I see lag is in mouse response. It can take several seconds for my mouse to catch up with wy hand movements. It is not every time though. This morning I came in and tried to use MC and immediatley had lag problems. I restarted MC and it was still there. I then rebooted pc and restarted MC and lag was gone and has not came back. XMr2, mill3, solids nvidia gforce4
  20. Welcome to the forum. If you're download is really slow it is possible that the down load is getting corrupted. Is there anyway you can speed it up or get ciopy from your reseller?
  21. I have been watching this issue tossed around since X came out, and I can't recall any one from Mastercam chiming in. Does any one know what Mastercam says about it?
  22. Go to web where you downloaded, and click on info button, the uninstall instructions are there.
