Faster and safer to prog. Ream hole ??

Which is the faster way to program different sizes of tap holes and ream holes in a part?

 

Is that any option once I selected the holes size to be tap or ream then it could output spot drill , drill and reaming tools. So That I don't have to go to the library to select it individualy.

 

I am usimg McamX MR2 level-2.

YOu could save all operations necessary to program a certain feature, then mask by size to select the different features and just copy geometry from one op to the next. If this is what you are already doing, I know of no other way.

I have all of my spot, drill and tap combinations saved to an op file, I just pull in the tools for the size I am using and set them to some geometry

Keep an eye out for ops not importing like they should. I reported it a few months back. It's not consistant. Some G83 cycles import as G81. Tapping cycles get switched around too.

How about using auto drill. It comes with MC.

Autodrill Can't pick up the right drill size. ??

For ex. 1/4 " ream hole.It looking for .245" drill . That suppose to be LTR B drill (.238" )

I noticed that on the Define Tool Page,

At parameter section. Cycle : drill/cbore. tap etc

On the m6 tap hole it was set for drill/c/bore not Tap. Could that caused the problems ?

I'm not sure who/what the culprit is, but if I import a tapping operation (it comes in wrong) and I correct it, save it back to my library and import it again, it comes in wrong again. I'm convinced it is somewhere in the import process. It shows up correctly in my library before I import it.

 

This has already been confirmed and logged by QC.
