Date in post

I know this has been covered and did a search and found lots of info, but still a problem

Ver. post the date reads like this

I can not get ride of the day after DEC the 6 is right.

This would seem a liitle off but the capitol D in day, try a small d

 

Other than that it looks fine.

 

I assume you've traced back the smonth variable and there's nothing be added to it anywhere else in the post?

 

You could also try making the "(DATE -", section a string and outputting that as a string instead of quoted text

Check to see if day is formatted. It is either formated incorrectly or not formatted at all. Check the FMT section.

 

Because you are gettign day 6. it leads me to belive it is not formatted and non formatted variables always get FS 1 and are output with the variable name.

Jim this is what I have

year2 = year + 2000

I changed it to this

fmt     26  day         # Day (2 digit format)

And I still get: day 6

Try putting a # in front of your format values and change the *day to day$

 

Works for me and i have not Day format variables.

 

oops sorry, let try ver 9?

 

here is my line form 9 post

Still no format variables except for the smonth.

Don, remove the asterisk on day (this is telling MP that it is a numeric variable rather than a command variable which means you would have to format it for output as an integer the way you have it). If this is for X, change it to day$

Try to copy and paste this line, It works in my post.

As John said to it may the capital D in *Day try and make it *day.

In your fmt statement you do not have an output address so it defaults to var name

Try:

fmt "" 12 day

or if you want:

fmt "-" 12 day

I noticed in your post above that you had a space in front of the " fmt 12 day". Make sure there is no space in front of a fmt statment.
