I'm just starting X2 and I can't even create a friggin line (sometimes)!

I select Line/Enpoints/Horizontal or Vertical.

Click..click. 2 Points...NO LINE! Any 2 points...

NO LINE! I created the original model yesterday. Created geometry no problem. Just like V9. Today...click click...NO LINE.

I must be doing something wrong or different from before. Can anybody help?

If you are using Windows XP with some of the graphical enhancements switched on, it can seem like the button you are trying to use (i.e. the Horizontal button) is greyed out. It's weird, but if it looks like the button is dimmed then it is the active button.

So you may think you are trying to draw a horizontal line but you are actually trying to draw a vertical one - press the other button and try again!

See if you're in the 2D or 3D construction plane.

Sometimes, I'll be zoomed in and wrongly have the construction plane set to 2D. I click my 2 endpoints and nothing appears to happen. What I didn't realize was the line was created way down at Z0.

Try checking Screen-Statistics, create the line, and then check Statistics again. See if you now have another line.
