Blunt start threads

Hi Guys..

I have to thread mill a blunt start thread and I'm not sure on what it initials. I think I thread mill the o.d. like normal and then mill off the leading thread square to the minor dia.

Doe's anyone in MC land have a example in nc code that I can look at. If I see the code I'll be able to figure out what I need to do.

That's how I've done it.

 

Normally I just create a partial of the thread helix, then ramp off. SOrry, no code to show though.

Thats sorta how we do it also. We mill off the imperfect thread to 1 full profile thread at the start & end of the thread. We mill to the minor dia. +.01/-.0
