I work in Tacoma, WA. There seems to be plenty of work out this way. But like John says you may have to relocate.

Sambo, I used to live in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. I moved out here about 9 years ago. The company I worked for tried to transfer me to Chicago after being in WA for a few years. I was like "no thanks" had a couple job offers in a matter of days. Chicago is a nice place to visit, but Washington State is a nice place to live.

The weather in Washington almost made me want to jump off the space needle - with no parachute. eek.gif

Seriously, if you LOVE the sun or are from somewhere where the sun shines ALOT, you'll have a hard time up there. I will say this though, it definitely hace some places up there that would be a great place to raise a family, lots of open space, beautiful scenery, Seattle is BY FAR the best large city I've ever been to, and I've been a lot of places in my life.

Cost of living is high compared to Indiana! I about had a heart attack when I saw what a house cost! We just tell everyone that it rains a lot so they don't move up here. It's more of a light sprinkle or mist. The first year I moved here it rained like 96 straight days and I almost picked up and moved to Bend, OR. But then I met the future Mrs. McCann and everything changed.

hey lived in s kali for some time and sure do miss the weather but depending on what ya like to do (stretch your arms, fire your arms, kill some fish or even hike a little.) ya cant beat the great northwest. this includes montana, idaho, washington and oregon.

they present some oportunities that only mother nature can create.

it really doesnt rain as much as some might think, ok some times it rains cows http://tacoma.planetdiscover.com/qsearch?w...rds=falling+cow

We are suffering the great shortage of skilled operators down here in New Zealand. The people we tend to end up with, just work for a wage, and dont care about the job.

As a result, we end up babysitting them through jobs. When a u-drill burns out due to the coolant level running low, they just shrug their shoulders...

Sounds like I should pack up and move to the US smile.gif
