Thrillers

Has anyone used thrillers (drill tap)? If so can you share on how well they work or don't work. I'm looking into using them but I don't know anything about them.

I thought thrillers were drill / thread mills. I have been told that these can be used in blind holes whereas drill/taps need a (somewhat) shallow through hole.

I haven't used a thriller, but a friend said they are great.

Sorry, yes your correct. drill/threadmills are what I'm interested in.

actually they work pretty good i used to work for the guy that originally designed them and did lots of testing on them we used to just run them till they broke it is lots of fun to go thru thousands of dollars in tooling and not get yelled at for it but it depends on what type of material you want to use it in also

The material is casted mag. I talked to our tool seller and he's getting me a quote. Can't wait to try it out.

no i never worked at williams but i did used to work with rich at a place called turchan technologies in dearborn a very long time ago
