Surface Trim Problem

I have a surface which is a rectangle.

I have about 198 hole I need to trim in side the

surface.

 

I want to trim the holes simultaneously.

The mask in options on surface trim doesent seem to

work for me.

 

The file is in the MCX2_files folder on the FTP

Site called FC189.MCX

 

Any suggestions?

Rick, I was able to window around all the holes. Is that what you wanted?

I am not sure why i couldn't select the circles

before.

 

But after I close MC and Opened it, I had success.

 

I fixed a few problems like that before, I just

forgot to try that first.

What is and does Ram Saver Do?

It is not in the help menu index.

Your right it's not in the help menu, It suppose to clean up excess entities and size of your file. Try it you probably see a large drop in the size of a file you've been working on for some time. I try to run it at least once a day on large files, or more.

It must store redundant data for some reason.

Does the application clean up or defrag the

file, so to speak.

 

Is it safe?

Yes RAM Saver is safe. I recommend that you save the file first before you run it. That way you have an incremented backup copy (If you enabled Backup files, which everybody should be doing!). It will save your bacon.

 

I might get one crash a week if I'm really taxing Mastercam hard.

Why don'y they design the software to be a

Ram Saver instead of use a Ram Saver?

 

My CNC Programmer will not use Ram Saver because

it decided to delete some important Geometry.

Whether he shoulda saved and backup his file 1st,

there was no warning that it could be a problem

as well.

I too have had it delete entities it called "duplicates", even though the duplicates were on another level.

That sounds great.

 

We are getting others in our shop trained, but

thats never enough. If we can get ppl up to par

without the expensive training, maintenance and

another seat might be in the picture.

 

Think Video help files as well, they helped me

in a different environment.
