Well I have made clocks, business card holders, cup holders, and other things over the years. In highschool we made all the Names for the School Board out of Alum and it was all cut out on a band saw then hand finished from there by file. They sucked did about 5 of those things from 10 to 12 grade. We also made 30" tall ferris wheel really cool when it was done.

Here is suggestion of what I did a while back you use your imagination .....

I did a search of Dallas skylines and found one I liked a view from the southwest. I downloaded it and took it into autocad and traced the outlines of the buildings. Than I took it into mastercam and created solids shaped like the buildings and rotated them to look like the picture. Created a surface for the background and put a border around it. I found the widest piece of red oak I had and scaled it up to 12.5 x 22". The machine time is around 1 hour using a 1" ball and a .25 ball cutter.

I cut several out and I have gave them away to some of our clients engraving their business name on the bottom. I am going to cut out a few more using walnut for the background and white oak for the buildings.

It's fun to mess around with different things...

(I posted this on another thread in off topic but I did not know how to link to it)

For now I still don't really have limits. It will depends of my boss opinion and machines availability.

Simple parts i drew are requiring: turning+milling 3-axis+wire

Machining can be 4 or 5-axis if needed.

Stock size should be less than 80mm diameter or flat.

Here is one I drew (Can be a clipboard.lol)
