X2 MR1 Operation defaults WARNING

The default setting for the contour toolpath in X2 MR1 is OSCILLATE which is going to start from the programmed Z value then go DOWN .5 inches.

 

I did the install off of the .iso cd set, so the web update might have a different defaults file, but I doubt it. Also, I did not run the migrate utility, so that may override the issue as well, but I couldn't hazard a guess as to what will really happen.

Glenn is correct. The only file with a problem is Mill_inch.Defaults. You should only experience this problem if you are using the Mill_inch.defaults that is installed from X2 MR1. If you use some custom file or something migrated from a previous version you will NOT experience this problem.

 

Simple thing to do is edit your mill_inch.defaults changing the contour type on the conour parameters page to something other than Oscillate.

Surface/Finish/parallel.....I believe "Use depth limits" defaults to Center rather than tip.

Caused another gouge in my jaws.
