so you can swap/add the icons/tooltip..

Okay, I think I got a valid question?

 

Does the .ft file give you the toolbar?

 

When I go to toolbar states I notice X+ and Viewfit,

two other chooks I use, and I also see

 

(1)Wire ToolPaths and (2)Wire Frame ToolPaths.

Are either one of these for freehand paths?

 

(1)I get a -the requested function cannot be run from mastercam millx2 sp1. when i click an icon

on the toolbar

 

and

 

(2)Wire frame tool path icons execute no problem.

 

I don't see a freehand toolbar, is that normal?

 

I am green guy when it comes to this, but hey,

I can at least use the software well..lol

 

Can anyone shed light on my dim situation?

A .FT (Function Table) file gives you the ability to place the function(s) defined in the FT on a toolbar and/or keymap.

 

The FT also defines the 'Category' the function will appear in the the Setting-Customize dialog.

 

In Takashi's FT file you see ->

CATEGORY "Ai Solutions"

 

If you select that Category (in the dropdown) you should see an icon for the CHook function (I see that he is using the default 'generic' CHook icon) and if you hover the mouse over it, the toolotip should appear. In this case - "Freehand center line"

Yup!

 

A Chook's .DLL does not have to be in the CHooks folder, as the path to the .DLL can be specified in the FT file. But the FT file must be in the CHooks folder, as Mastercam X only looks for them there.
