X2-MR1 installation error

Dear All,

 

I have downloaded X2MR1 from website & installed in my desktop, it works good...

 

but the same when I tried to put in to my laptop it doesnt starts. Iam getting an error..

 

Toshiba laptop:

Windows Xp sp2; 1.25GB RAM; Pentium 4 CPU; 2.80GHz; 32 bit

 

I have tried uninstalling the prior versions also.

 

please help me..

Sunder, try a search. I remember someone else also had this problem.

are you running an antivirus program. Some get

a little overbearing when dealing with .exe files

Did you clear the Regaistry of the earler versions?

One more thing about MR1 install. We have an old Bridgeport CNC mill and with X2 we have to use DOS mode communications. We tried to send code to it with a different PC and DOS mode didn't work. We tried all our PC's and our MC dealers and only our first one had DOS mode that would work.

 

After 4 hours of me and an IT staffer chasing possabilites we found the answer. You have to OVERWRITE your X2 install with MR1. If you chose the clean install option DOS, and who knows what else, doesn't work.

yes, iam using symantec antivirus, but Iam experiencing this only with X2-MR1, X2 & prior versions runs pretty good in the same lap.

 

i'll try by removing symantec...

i have cleared the reg components for Mcam X2 only not for V9.1

No need to uninstall it, just turn it off during the MCX install.
