Something that I have also found helps is on your lead in/out page (if you are using rough) extend the tool lead in by .1". Or with canned rough, either add .1" to the lead in or define a line at 0. Deg and is .1" long. Works for me.

 

I always define stock, and I always use ref. points cause I don't like it coming that close on X & Z at full rapid. After the ref. point it moves to facing position and chops away nicely.
