Can't see mouse cursor, VISTA

New laptop, prolly can't run MC anyway, but thought I might be able to do some basic stuff. So far not "to bad". But I can't see my mouse cursor. Looked around, config, help, searched, but didn't find anything. Any clues?

Close out MC, then right click on the MC icon. Click properties, then the compatability tab. Check "Disable desktop composition" click OK, then restart MC.

Did that....thnxs..might be a pc prob..WalMart $539.00 laptop, acrually not to bad for everyday crap. 1G ram 1.7 dou core , video??intel 95 graphics accelarator???..Heck I had a much worse POS than this and it would "almost" run V9.

Therein lies your problem.

 

I don't know that there is a fix.

 

You could try turning down the Hardware acceleration . Even if it runs properly after that the performance will not be anything worthwhile.

Really didn't expect much..Oh well keep on trying to figure this out..10 minutes at a time.

Most of my MC education is on this forum..my new "office" is between the bathroom and the watercooler, every once in a while, Ill have a 3 or 4 minute cycle time on my lathe, and the wire machine is just doing what it does. So actually I only really do 2 jobs at once....hence my lack of knowledge...I'm gettin' really frustrated.

 

That said, you guys...keep up the good work here..I've learned mucho. My thanks to all.

Best "fix" is to make a partition on your HDD and do a dual boot setup with XP or just roll back to XP. I struggled with vista and X2 mr1 for weeks. At best it was not livable fixed all of the graphics issues but the tool paths were agonizingly slow.

To dual boot there are several free utilities out there I'm using Vista boot pro 3.3

I had that problem many years ago, then I changed the screen background color to a shade of gray or blue and the cursor showed up. It looked ugly but it worked.

I have had this problem also, it happened when I changed my screen refresh rate, try lowering it and see if that helps.

I am taking back my HP with Vista tonight. Way to many issues, bugs, and plain just don't works. I can buy a corp lease turn-in Dell M70 with warr for half the price and it will do everything I need.

Download OPENGL32.dll from the ftp and drop it into your MC directory. Might do the trick. HTH!

Did change background color and ..low and behold..may be a litle slow, but hey I can actually get some work(learning) done. Not that bad.
