get kicked out of mc

Im using X lathe, and if make an error in a toolpath, Mastercam shuts down all the way instead of warning me or having a wreck. Is this normal or can I fix it?

Is it reproducible? Can you describe a set of steps that will make it happen?

Did you get the box come up asking whether you want to send it to us?

I think I sent it to you. I did reproduced it and in the parameters I had the tool comp. set on right when it should have been left, I clicked the green arrow and got kicked out.

Also, I have the auto save set at 5min. How do you access the auto save to retreeve a lost file.

I've had a similar problem with mastercam x2 mr2 sp1 lathe. I tried to add a tool path which it let me then when I tried to back plot the file I had big problems. I just deleted the tool path and restarted mcam and it seem to work.

Autosave in and of itself doesn't save a backup of your file, it simply saves your file at that point in time.

 

If you want or need back ups you need to check out the settings >> configuration >> files >> autosave/backup.

 

click on the back up feature now available in Mastercam and avail yourslef to it's use. It has saved my bacon on more than one occasion.

 

And, myself, I would say turn off the autoave feature and use only back up, however you MUST rememebr to then save your file manually

Turn off auto save. Use the Backup feature and hit save often. Auto save has burned me many times.
