General question on MACROS

Can any one of you write a macro program that would step down, so the operator can control the depth. Rectangle inside program, rectangle outside program too. Using the macro B format.

on a HAAS VF-5. I would do it but I don't understand where to start at. Even if someone could start me on the correct path I would appreciate it. I have the file that explains all about macro B programs. I have been to the WEb sight that has information about MACROS B. banghead.gif If someone could send me an example and explain what each move does then I can probably pick it up from that point.

thanks for all input

I bought a book that goes into great detail about Macro Programming that has and example of what you are talking about. Peter Smid is the Author here is a link to it at Amazon.

Fanuc CNC Custom Macro Programming

I know some others on the forum bought it and like it as much as I do. What you ask to be explained would take a while where as this book will explain that and so many others things to you that will be invauleable down the road.
