Hi Everybody

when I do extrude cut, window selection to select letters.it give the error as shown in the image. It make most of letters and rest of the letter it give the error. I must be doing some thing wrong and if any body can help me. I will try to provide with more inf.

I created 3 lines of letter and select extrude cut, window selection. In this selection some of the arows shows opposite direction and I used RE-select and constuction z icon and give all in one direction, I am using thin wall option, thicken both directions. Result is it cut all letter except 3 letters and when I reselect those 3 letters even individually it give the same error as shown in the image. These letters are created from Create, Create letters option, mcx(box) Font.

Any help will be appreciated

They still may have the errors I mentioned. The part of your alarm that says (curve crosses edge) tells me that you have overlapping entities. You may have to zoom in really close and drag your mouse over the entities that aren't chaining and see if they are overlapping (having your auto highlight on). Or analyze chain. MC does make errors in geo. smile.gif

I checked the letter 4, there was no overlapping and screen stat also shows 3 lines entity.

In my 3 rows letter only problem is with letter 4 and rest all work ok.

I also tried on separate file by creating solid and only one letter 4. IF i do extrude cut, have the correct direction of the arrow, thin wall both direction about .005. the result is the error.

If someone can try this one, please?

Thanks

Solids need a closed chain to extrude, cut, ext. This is stick lettering the only closed part of this is the inner portion of the 4. You need block lettering to have a closed chain, or break entities at intersections for thin wall extrusions or cuts, no over lapping chains are permitted. The 4 that you show would take at least 3 chains to extrude, cut. The 2 straight lines on the ends of the 4 overlapp or cross.

I will send you file wink.gif

Dan.
