"Ghosting"

I know "ghosting" an operation causes it to not be posted, but is there a way to get mastercam to not backplot & verify ghosted operations as well?

I use ghosting quite often, and I do not know of a way to not backplot or verify them, but I put my ghosted ops in a different toolpath group than the ops that I post. That way I just click on the toolpath group that I want to backplot and or verify, and select the toolpath group that needs to be posted.

Yep thats what I'm doing now, but my parts are a family of parts and they have very subtle differences and I just turn on or off the posting of operations that i need, so putting them in dummy toolpath groups for local storage is not ideal but hey what is

I think you hold your shift-key and untick that opperation, then it won't be backploted.

I hold down the CTRL key and tick the items I want to backplot/verify - bypassing the ghosted items. This seems to work well for me.

thats a simple task in windows

 

ctrl+click - select multi items

 

shift+click - select all that is in between 2 selected items (click on the first then hold shift key and click on sevond , all that is in between come selected)

 

this work in all windows folders or applications

Don't forget that if you have 20 ops but want to post all but a couple, use the shift option mentioned above to select them all, then use Ctrl+click to go pick out the ones you don't want. More standard Winblows functionality.
