I think millturn's right. Insted of using the Depth Cuts Box on the surface parameters page you need to use the Cut Depths box on the contour parameters page. You'll need to check the absolute side on and then you can set you min and max depths there.

The depth Cuts box controls the step down and finish pass settings and the Cut Depths box controls the min and max depths to start and end on.HTH

I AM USING THE CUT DEPTHS ON THE CONTOUR PARAMETERS PAGE. IF I SELECT THE ACTUAL GOEMETRY MIN AND MAX POINT. EX. 0 FOR TOP SURFACE AND -1.5 FOR BOTTOM.MY MAX STEP DOWN SAY IS .01 THE 1ST PASS WOULD BE .01 DEEP.IS THIS THE WAY YOU SEE IT?

SO FAR NOT WORKING THIS WAY

THANKS AHEAD

If the top surface is 0 and the bottom is -1.5, and if you want to cut on the first step .1 , than give the min depth = -.1 and max -1.5. All the values are absolute. If you have stock above the top surface take that in consideration too.

For example top of stock =.2; min depth =.1 Good luck!
