Solids question

I have a solid model that I need to convert the outside of the geo. to create a cavity in soft jaws so I can machine the inside of the model. I tried creating surfaces and machining the inside of the surface with HST toolpath with limited success. confused.gif Has anyone done this before? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Santa Fe is correct...you are going to want to use the male to create the female with boolean remove. If you have problems maybe you can put in on the ftp or email me and I can try and give ya a hand. If you email it to me you will have to save it as a version 9 for I am not as fortunate as teh rest.

Okay Sante Fe I did what you suggested and my original solid disappeared leaving the wire frame behind but didn't change my target body. So I chose non associative and kept my original solid but there's still no change to the target body. I created the target body from a rectangle and then extruded it. Should I make the target some other way?? confused.gifconfused.gif
