Flowline Surface Conflict

Does anyone know what causes this message? "Flowline surface conflict found. Toolpath not possible." I've searched the archives with little success. I can't figure it out.

are you selecting a single surface...or multiples?

26 total surfaces. It's the pocket of the model you saw yesterday. It's got a lot of detail in it.

I get this alot when I select alot of surfaces. I think it has to do with surface normals. You will have to break them up in to more ops or use a different toolpath.

 

Alot of people like and recommend surface finish blend but for stuff like this. But I haven't been able to figure that toolpath out yet.

I believe your surfaces may overlap in places.

Zoom in and take a looky.

Create 2 lines, toolpaths/create surface blend/select surface or solid/then in the toolpath surface selection window,at the bottom of it select the blend button/select the two lines. Blend will machine surfaces between the two lines only. Provided the surface you picked are between them.

By the ways were your surfaces overlapping just a little for the flowline?

edmBosto, no overlaps just too many surfaces for flowline to work properly I guess. Suface blend worked pretty well.

Surface blend is an awesome toolpath. I use it all the time.
