The iges file comes in good after bringing into X10. when I flip model 180 to do OP2 some surfaces dont rotate or they do some funky stuff. I need the surfaces due to it is surface machining. The Mastercam rep thinks its the video card. anyone else ever had this problem?? I never seen this before.

Sounds like that part is a solid, not a set of surfaces like you're expecting. Go to File/Open and select the file, but before hitting 'OK' push the 'Options' button and change from Solids to Surfaces.

Or look into the benefits of working with solids (there are many).

The IGES issue may be a bug. If you can, send it in to qc@mastercam with a description. Tell 'em Pete sent you.

Same issue here as well when using IGES. Though it is not a constant. Just some times it happens and it is always a weird thing. Just some wire frame and surfaces will not rotate right.

I have always chalked it up to my crappy system or a poorly created model. Maybe it is a bug....

parent surface's are blanked?

This has usually been the problem for me. I don't usually move the geometry from it's original location. I'd rather set a WCS at the orientation and origin I need.

But, if I have to move the geometry I do this:

I change the geometry that's showing to a different color so I can use filter selection later, then I unblank>>window everything. After rotating and translating I filter out the child geometry by color and reblank the parent geometry.
