Ading G168 p3 to haas post

I was just wondering if there was a way to change the post so I can post a g168 p1 to every surface rough path and a g 168 p3 too all my finish paths. I guess this would also include the high speed tool paths. This is for a vm 3 machine parameter.

Not sure about the post but you can use the manual entry to do this.

I just ad it as a manual entry before the tool path and the controller picks it up. Is there a command to cancel this setting also that I should post after the path? I'm very new to this setting.

It’s a system parameter in a hass vm which is supposed to help control the smoothness of a surface and also accuracy.

When you use the manual entry it either outputs it as code or text select code. Put one before the toolpath to turn it on and one after to turn it off make sure it outputs when posted some older posts need to be modified

Ok so here's another qustion I've been manually turn it on with putting the g168 p3 in the program how do i know when it's on or off. Will it say its an active gcode on the controller. I have a new vm 3.

Sorry I'm on crack today. The G code is g187 p3 not 168 sorry.......

You can use an 'misc.parameter' for that.

and make an hard-coded switch to the default in the program end.

That sounds like a good idea, do you know of any literature that could lead me in the right direction to do this.
