Right Angle Head Manufacturers?

What kind of options do you need?

We use quite a few different brands in here from flange mounted to tool changer capable. For medium duty work my favorite by far is Koma Slimline . It fits in the tool changer very nicely and it's small enough to fit into some tight areas. I even use a laser on both the Integrex and the Variaxis to set the tool stickout.

Thanks for the reply, robk. That looks pretty cool. I need a head for a HAAS Cat40 taper. I need to be able to drive er32 collets. I also need thru tool coolant but, the caveat is, I need to run only air thru. So far, all of them with thru tool coolant, that I've found, must run coolant thru at all times. We machine graphite, so we can't run coolant.

Just throwing a couple of names out there for you.

Alberti makes some smaller heads. We also have a very large universal milling head that was an option on our floor bar with a brand name of Emena. Can't find anything on the web about them though. WE have even used Mazak Live lathe tooling heads and made our own mounts for them.

We have been impressed with Big Kaiser. They have lots of choices and everything we have bought from them has been quality equipment and excellent workmanship. Here's link to angled heads website.

I seem to remember that they have a way to have coolant at the tool but not through the tool so you don't need special tools. The coolant comes out of the collet or collet nut.

None of our heads have coolant or air through capabilities so I'm no help there frown.gif

How about just getting an external air line?

That would be NX4 smile.gif

I have NX5 installed, but our major customer uses even version of UG...

Patiently waiting for NX6 wink.gif

Thanks for your suggestions, all. I may have found a Benz that fits our needs. Not real sure yet, but keeping keeping my fingers crossed. I just have to wait for the distributors tech people in Germany, to get back to work in the morning.
