I am useing Mastercam V9. To edit a program I am use to useing Cimco CNC Edit (Lite) that came with V7. Is it possible to set Mastercam V9 to open Cimco Edit when I post a program and pick Edit Program.

Also is there a newer version packaged with V9?

Thanks

Gary

If you are stuck on the earlier V7 version, find the CNCEdit directory with Mill72 and copy it to C:Mcam9CommonEditors

Modify Mill9.txt as follows

[file edit]

(this line contains the Number of Editors listed - if you add one, make this bigger)

1. "5"

2. "MCEDIT"

3. "PFE32"

4. "CIMCOEDIT"

5. "NOTEPAD"

6. "CNCEDIT"

(this 1 blank line must immediately follow the editors AND be numbered properly)

7. ""

This method preserves some of the other strong editor selections like MCEDIT, PFE32, and NOTEPAD. [bong.]

Mill Man,

Another way to set your Cimco Editor as a default is to got to the Screen-Configure-Start/Exit tab and select CimcoEdit from the pull-down list of editors in the field in the lower right of the tab. When clicking the OK button at the bottom, save the configuration. This will set the updated Cimco Edit for V9 as your default editor whenever you post code or simply select a file to edit. I believe you'll find the current Cimco Edit (OEM version) in Mcam V9 to be more powerful, quick, easy, functional, and..., than the one from V7. Give it a try. HTH smile.gif
