STOCK NOT REGONIZED

Good Afternoon,

 

I am having a problem lately with lathe. I have defined my stock with the cylinder method and started my rough cycle chain from right to left. The tool path generated does not cut all the way down on the right and stops short in Z on the left?????? This is driving me crazy. I have tried re-defining stock. Saved and re-opened. Re-chained several times? Why?????? This is too simple to have this many problems? Anyone see this before?? Boss is getting pissed.

Not a lathe guy but does this mean you drew up a solid cylinder to use for verify or that you are picking cylinder method in verify ? I would draw up a solid and pick that for verify to see if you get the same result.

I have just drew a wireframe of the stock and used define stock by chain. It will verify correctly then.

Make sure under your parameters/ stock recongnition that you have: use stock for outer boundry.

Have you clicked on the adjust stock tab in the toolpath parameters? I think thats what it's called. I use it every day but when I'm not right there, I can't think of it. In there you will find a few options to further tell it what part of stock you are cutting. Using "Use stock for outer boundary" seems to work well.

Yes thats what I'm talking about. It seems somtimes it does not stay selected.

Check your e-mail

Your geometry had some problems: duplicate lines, untrimed lines and so on.

But obviously Mastercam don´t like your DIN grooves.

I create a new level named: LEANDRO and copy the geometry there.

Remove the groves and works.

I assumed if the chain was complete and highlighted yellow is was OK. This was a Pro-E drawing saved out to Autocad DWG and then imported. Thanks again.
